News: HighTide transfers second festival show to London

Just weeks ahead of this year’s HighTide Festival, organisers have announced a second London transfer.

Vickie Donoghue’s debut play, Mudlarks,  will now play at London’s Theatre503 following a run at the Halesworth  based festival.

Mudlarks will join HighTide’s production of Ella Hickson’s Boys in London, which has already announced plans for a run at the Soho Theatre after its Suffolk run.

Mudlarks is set on the banks of the River Thames and looks at three boys hiding from the police after a night of recklessness. Over the course of a freezing night their fears, secrets and dreams emerge. Mudlarks marks the debut of Essex-born writer Vickie Donoghue, and the play explores the culture Donoghue grew up with.

Steven Atkinson, HighTide Festival Artistic Director, is excited by the potential that the partnership with Theatre503 offers:
‘I admire Theatre503’s tireless championing of new talent, and the launch pad it has provided to such talents as Katori Hall and The Mountaintop. I hope that by working together we can champion Vickie Donoghue, a truly exciting new talent, to the same ends’.

Mudlarks will premiere at the HighTide Festival from May 4 to 13th and then at Theatre503 from May 29th to June 2.
